Meet the maker of SAB's Le Gin

We are excited to present SAB'S Le Gin produced by Alambic Bourguignon, an artisanal distillery in Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. SAB'S Le Gin is classified as a distilled gin made by steam distillation in a three-vessel copper still. A maceration of juniper berries and 14 other aromatic botanicals, such as Amalfi lemon peel, bitter orange peel, lemongrass, and Damask rose in neutral alcohol made with French wheat. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir eau de vie from Burgundy are added. They distill the lees of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from some of Burgundy's finest winemakers, primarily from the premier and grand crus of the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The inspiration comes from the hilltops of Meursault where wild juniper trees naturally grow; there is even a premier cru called Meursault Genevrières! After a minimum of three months of rest in stainless steel tanks, their spirit is ready to be filled into 2000 pretty little brown apothecary bottles. SAB'S is named after Mathieu Sabbagh, the mastermind behind this delicious elixir, as well as a few others under the SAB'S Spirits label, like Le Marc, La Fine, and La Poire. Prior to becoming the founder and distiller of Alambic Bourguignon, Mathieu was the Director of International Sales at Pernod Ricard. After more than 20 years of international corporate life, living on many continents and countries, Mathieu decided to return to his roots, close to the best vineyards, to produce spirits from grapes, with his right-hand man, Paul de Vaucorbeil, and Obelix, the distillery's mascot dog. SAB'S Le Gin is best drunk neat as a digestif, in a cocktail, or with a wine-based product such as vermouth. It is perfect for a Dry or Dirty Martini, a Martinez, or a Negroni.
