Meet the maker of Le Point G Gin

The French G-Spot Gin

Le Point G Gin is made from a neutral grain alcohol (cereals). The eleven ingredients used are coriander, violet, ginger, allspice, spirulina, sweet orange, candied lemon, and, of course, juniper berries, the main ingredient of gin (22%). The method used to make this gin is double distillation in a Charentais-type still.

In our August 2020 Box, we had the pleasure of presenting Le Point G Gin, a premium gin from Toulouse, which was first introduced in 2017, well before the gin trend developed in France.

A bit of history about this gin... Once upon a time, there was a partnership between a mixologist and a master distiller from a family that has been making liqueur for five generations, located on the Pastel route, a key position at the gates of Toulouse, the Pyrenees, and the Mediterranean. Their elixir is made up of eleven ingredients, with spirulina and violet as essential components. A true emblem of the Toulouse region, and familiar to Benoît Serres, whose father created the first violet liqueur in the 1950s, this flower gives a gourmand and floral aspect to the gin, while adding a certain roundness to an alcohol that is generally very dry. Spirulina, for its part, provides a marine and chlorophyllous side and is known as a very nutrient-dense food, very rich in proteins, iron, vitamins, and minerals. A delicious blend of land and sea, giving birth to Point G Gin.

For Alexandre You, it aims to be a product that initiates new cocktail recipes. With gin undergoing a renaissance phase, the Toulouse spirit is intended to be more aromatic and smooth than traditional gins. That is why the mixologist targets a premium clientele, fond of local products and eager to enjoy new flavors. The two partners have just developed a plant-based elixir, called Point Green, a natural and original recipe that is lightly sweetened, low in alcohol, and made from ingredients never used before!

Alexandre You, always very creative, a lover of natural and innovative products. He will soon offer a new kefir tonic. Less sweet, 100% natural, without artificial flavors, without coloring and preservatives. A drink with multiple digestive virtues, strengthens the immune system, transit, etc.… with continuous carbonation as a living food. Since we love Point G Gin, we are eager to try their new products!
